Gotta Have Faith!
To an artist creating is a bit like breathing, you can stop and hold it all in for awhile, but eventually you either burst or drown.
In times like this I appreciate friends like Julianne Faith so, so much; willing to go create for the sake of creating!
We started with a burger and a drink at Lucky 13 where we were quick to notice it made the perfect spot for our first shooting location right next to our table!
After leaving Lucky 13 and their fabulous peanut-butter burger behind, we found this tiny alley between two buildings.
Julie was only a smidge hesitant before squeezing in for our quick experiment.
I used my widest angle lens (Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L) to emphasize the exaggerated perspective created by the alley.

Julianne turned out to know the perfect spot to discover some great shots! I didn’t bring any lights but with a super fast lens like the Canon EF 50 f/1.2L means we can shoot in even dim ambient lights. After a few shots inside we found our way out back to take advantage of the golden hour.
As the Golden Light faded behind the buildings we decided to take advantage of the cool light in the shade.
I shot with Julianne Faith for the first time nearly seven years ago, and at our first shoot she did a pose in front of a doorway that I remembered quite well! She had the idea to try to recreate our early shot from memory on our way back inside… this is the result.
