A little complex of abandoned buildings in Ogden was just too perfect to pass up, even without official permission. When in doubt just pretend to be allowed to be there, that’s my motto. The policeman that showed up halfway through seemed to agree completely.
If I wasn’t so distracted by Brooke I probably would have remembered to take a picture of him leaving. Live and learn I suppose.
I really like this series with the details of the model rather than the whole model. At first I hated the images (I never shoot this way), and then I just didn’t understand them. I just plain don’t get it. Which is precisely why I love this–they slap me up the side of my old head and force me to see anew. I appreciate these, thanks!
Love this perspective, thanks TonyJ!
I’m with Tony. The selective crops used to frustrate me. I would always be wanting to see what was just out of frame, but after spending more time looking at shots like these I realised that the thing that keeps me coming back is the intrigue and mystery of what I can’t see. It’s something I’ve never tried and I assume it takes a clever editor to keep the right shots in and the viewer following the story.
Great work.
That’s a good perspective, Mark…it’s what is just outside the frame that can make the shot work. But I suppose what is IN the frame needs to be so intriguing to make the viewer want more.
