Warm Light plays a big impact on the feeling of a shot and for me I love the warmth of a particular 500 watt lighting kit that heats the entire room up with it’s saucy magic! The octagon modifier throws this splash of warmth around shadows and when exposed just so aromatically spices highlights across the skin in a way that I love!

Quirky is the new sexy! The ability to own contradictory ideas at the same time, and pull it off, is one of my favorite things to try as a photographer. Model is Abbie Ensign.

Vulnerability means showing the parts of us that are broken, scarred and otherwise not-so-perfect. Loving yourself means loving those imperfections and showcasing scars front-and-center in a portrait can be quite impactful.  Model is Hannah Rose.

Personality can shine through portraits and become fabulously attractive!

Which makes sense, a vibrant personality can brighten someones day with just the glimmer in their eye and there is nothing more beautiful than that!

Letting personality shine through a portrait is one of the most powerful ways to increase the overall appeal in a photo.

From micro-expressions to belly laughs, finding those best slices of someones individual-ness turns a photographer into a hunter and I love that!
