Kait
My first shoot with Kait Brandt. I don’t know what it is but girls with long dark hair always kind of catch my eye.

Our first shoot. Kind of mysterious… in a way. Don’t worry, I’ve shot her again since and next time you’ll catch a better glimpse of her beautiful face.

So, what’s it like to shoot with Jake Garn? I think Hadley sums it up nicely with four frames.
A sneak peek from our very first shoot.
You’re probably going to see more from her, I can tell.
Fayth is an absolute natural and pleasure to photograph.

For the longest while, for over a year really, I’ve felt like my creative subconscious has been asleep… but it’s starting to wake up.
I’m… excited.
When Jorgen arrived we had a great overcast sky without a hint of rain, but shortly after getting on the road the downpour started. So much so that we had to abandon the first location (without getting a single shot) and headed south trying to outrun the edge of the storm… it continued to catch up with us as we hurried in and out of the car for shelter as we chased after these images.
And catch them we did.
One of my all-time favorite quick shoots, even though Jorgen, my camera and I all got soaked.
As a photographer I love an overcast sky. The soft milky light just seems to drip into every shadow and give it an effervescent glow, I usually flee from the bright sun and the harsh shadows it leaves in it’s wake.
But sometimes you gotta just face the bright sun full on.
Shot with natural light.

At some point I dubbed 2010 the year of the test shoot. I’m way too lazy to go count how many shoots I did but it was the most in any given year so far, for me. Somewhere early on last year I decided I was a bit in a funk, creatively. I knew it was there but I didn’t quite know how to get out. Oh I tried little things here and there, and they seemed to work for a little bit but it wasn’t until I went on a trip to Southern California about a month or two ago that I really think I figured it out.
I’ll spare you the details, but sufficeth to say that the era of test shoots is behind me, for now… so, here is a fitting memorial to 2010. A best of sort of a thing.
Available in 720HD but you must select it in the video player below! I highly recommend it.
