5 faces

Five Faces Do multiple faces mean automatic super-villain status? ++++ I am nothing if not a mad scientist, had I any talents in biology or any sort of life sciences I would be the guy in a lab that accidentally created a super hero/villain out of myself and at this moment a blockbuster movie would be in production about my life. It would be a massive success and I would be stumbling out of the car with Paris Hilton as we speak... and my wife would be pissed but she'd understand because I wasn't myself, it was the mad science that made me freak out. Alas, I have no biology skills whatsoever......

The Lazy Rule of Thirds

The Tremendously Lazy Rule of Thirds "Rules are made to be broken."  -My favorite paradox. I can count on one hand the number of rules I will obey without question, based solely on fear of catastrophic consequences: I turn off personal electronics during landing and take-off, I keep my hands inside the ride at all times, I don't rock vending machines, I resist the urge to climb over zoo fences and I no longer lunge for a police officer's holstered gun on April Fools Day. Pretty much everything else is up for debate. That brings me to the Rule of Thirds. After a tremendous amount of research...

The Storm

The Storm "There are two sides to every coin, two peas in a pod, two to tango and as far as photography is concerned there are two kinds of storms - good storms and great storms." I am nothing but an extraordinarily courteous photographer (that's a lie) and since the bride was used to living in much warmer weather I called her at 1PM, five hours from the scheduled shooting time, and gave her the opportunity to reschedule the shoot for a different, warmer, more predictable day. Lucky for us she was brave... unlucky for her it was freezing.  Did I mention that she is from Ghana, as in blistering...

The Mysterious Purse

Inorganic Decay is very interesting to me. I love the evidence of a bustling past, the idea of complete abandonment and the extreme toll that seems to occur when a place is simply... left. Which is what makes the discovery of this location an absolute gold mine in my book! Located about 1.5 miles from my front door it's an abandoned school of some sort, since it's probably trespassing I won't mention any more about the location so don't ask, but lets just say we found a way into this completely boarded up building and discovered that what appeared to be a small brick structure is absolutely...

How to Photograph a Girl in an Aquarium

How to Photograph A Girl in an Aquarium First, you need to develop an interest in tropical fish whilst in Junior High, after much cajoling convince your parents to let you procure a fish tank. Enjoy the fish for a long time, but eventually start to neglect them until the tank is only half full (thanks to evaporation) and your starving fish are nourished mostly by the grime inside the tank. One day, during your sporadic weekly feeding, you will notice that all of the fish have perished. The sense of loss is enhanced by the sad realization that you are horribly unqualified to ever have children. Eventually...

The Worst Photoshoot EVER!

These images were created in 2002 roughly one hour before the night took a horrific turn for the worse. Katherine Franco - Shortly before things took a dramatic turn for the worse. First, I must say that Katherine is probably the main reason I eventually became a decent photographer. I started shooting her in 2001 and it is still my pleasure to shoot her almost eight years later, I'm shooting her again tomorrow as a matter-of-fact! She has been a tremendously good sport and the mere fact that she even still talks to me after what happened five years ago is insane, thank you Katherine! So,...

A brand new blog!

A Brand New Photography Blog Lots of people seemed to enjoy reading my old photography blog, I had video tutorials, stories from my shoots, before and after images, tips and tricks, and sneak previews of new work... but the problem is I didn't love my blog.  It didn't look like my style, uploaded videos didn't look nearly as good online as they did on my computer, image size and placement couldn't really be controlled... I finally realized that I loved creating the content but I didn't love figuring out the blogging technology. That's where my new blog and entire new website comes in!  I commissioned...
